English 14 Online

Hi, anyone know any good novels to read over the summer? Since school's almost done (for me), I'm out of English novel reading ideas. I just don't want any: -Sci-fi (pretty flexible on this) -Age 13 or lower (since I'm 18 now) -Drama (I don't like too much of it) -Horror (another flexible one, though I really never read it) -Mystery (I barely read it, but if you have a good one, throw it at me) -Erotica (would rather not have it around my house) I do like History, Fiction, Fantasy, Heroic (I'm still a sucker for these), Adventure, yadda yadda So, please help me :D

I'm not sure if you like them or not, but I would recommend a very good series called The Rangers Apprentice. there are a total of 12 books in that series. Then there is a sequel series after. They are fiction, Fantasy, and kind of Heroic, and definitely Adventure. Just a suggestion. My 21 year old sister has read all of them and she quite enjoyed them. So they are not like for "little kids". Hope this helps. If you do bother reading them, happy reading :)

Wow, thanks. It is young adult, but I checked the summary and reviews, and it's definitely something I'm going to try out.

OpenStudy (magbak):

read Hiroshima

OpenStudy (factor):

@ManimStumped u got to check out Lord of the Rings triology it has 3 books but u better start with the Hobbit its a really amzing book

OpenStudy (wolfboy):

Have you ever read the Celestine Prophecy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@factor I've read the series, but thank you. I had to read it for class around five years ago. @magbak The one by John Hersey? @Wolfboy No, is it any good? I want a book for a plane ride, cause I'll be vacationing soon.

OpenStudy (wolfboy):

Now here is the thing, this is not a normal book. It really makes you think, and this thing DOES exist. I don't recommend this book if you have a VERY firm religion or are closed minded toward energy, and certain things rather supernatural. But, if you want to get thinking, and realize things that are quite cool/weird GET THIS BOOK. It is really not about action, but it still contains a very interesting story

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I do have a very firm religion, but I'm extremely open-minded about other religions/beliefs. I'll try it out, and I was looking at a couple of reviews/summaries. Seems really cool. Thank you for the option :)

OpenStudy (wolfboy):

It is not exactly a religion, just to say. It is just a different view on the world that can be taken in with religion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alrighty. I'll be going to the library tomorrow, so I'll let you know then if I liked it or not. I'm guessing I will. Especially if it has to do with psychology or philosophy.

OpenStudy (wolfboy):

OK, enjoy :D

OpenStudy (factor):

if u like maths u can read this book Flatland its good book

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Noooo not maths :|

OpenStudy (factor):

say me some fictional books

OpenStudy (studystagram):

You should definitely read Helen Keller's autobiography called 'The Story of My Life'. It's really inspiring and her diction is amazing. Very well written.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Gardens of the Moon (The Malazan Book of the Fallen) Steven Erikson

OpenStudy (kaylee_td):

"My brother sam is dead"- History novel

OpenStudy (kaylee_td):

"Coppersun"- Very good history novel!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

read romance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks @Kaylee_td I doubt I'll read the first one, though, cause I'm not interested in American history, which I know is odd here, since most people here are American. But yeah, too patriotic for me ;) I WILL look into coppersun. Seems legitly interesting, and the rating is great. Thanks for this :D And no, @taylor12344 I don't like romance. At all. :|

OpenStudy (kaylee_td):

np:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I like Janet Evanovich's books pretty good. They're pretty funny and she writes her characters well. I would suggest reading her book 'Wicked appetite.' It's supposedly made for adults but the content rating is pretty low. After all I'm in sixth grade and I read most of her books. The genre is fantasy and humor I would believe. Happy reading :)

well for fun try reading the Vladimir todd series
