Mendel crossed a tall plant and a short plant. This resulted in 40 plants that were all tall. When 2 offspring plants were crossed, this resulted in 30 tall and 10 short plants. What are the genotypes of each original plant?

Do u know about Mendel's crosses ?

When a homozygous Tall plant (TT) is crossed with Homozygous small plant (tt) then all the offsprings will have a genotype Tt and a tall phenotype.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Now when these Tt plants are crossed with each other then the offspring will have TT, Tt, tt genotypes and the phenotype Tall and short in the ratio of 3:1|dw:1405392661583:dw|

This cross is called as F\(_2\) cross and the first one is called as F\(_1\) cross. Can u guess the answer to ur question now ?
