since there are 6 faces on a die there is a 3/6 or 1/2 chance of rolling a die and getting a prime number.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

That is correct. There are 6 numbers: 1,2,3,4,5,6 3 of them are prime: 2,3,5 3/6 = 1/2

I want to know if its Empirical or Theoretical ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

It's theoretical because you haven't rolled the dice at all to record any results. It's all based on the theory that each number gets an equal chance of being landed on.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

If you had a data table of values from the rolls you got, then it would allow you to get the empirical probability

thanks !!!

you're welcome
