When rolling two dice, which outcome is more likely a sum of 4 or a sum of 6?

OpenStudy (kropot72):

The sample space has 36 possible combinations of numbers. These can be set out in column form as follows: 6,6 5,6 4,6 3,6 2,6 1,6 6,5 5,5 4,5 3,5 2,5 1,5 6,4 5,4 4,4 3,4 2,4 1,4 6,3 5,3 4,3 3,3 2,3 1,3 6,2 5,2 4,2 3,2 2,2 1,2 6,1 5,1 4,1 3,1 2,1 1,1 So you need to find the number of sums of 4, and the number of sums of 6.

OpenStudy (kropot72):

Each of the possible 36 possible outcomes has an equal probability, therefore the greater of the number of sums of 4 and the number of sums of 6 is the more likely.
