If the outliers are not included, what is the mean of the data set? 76, 79, 80, 82, 50, 78, 83, 79, 81, 82

I'm assuming you would completely ignore the outlier in the set which, as you can see, is 50. It stands out from the rest of the numbers. The mean is the average of the set, so you would add up the set (excluding the outlier) and divide it by the total amount of numbers in the set.
