OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

A triangular prism has a height of 11 meters and a base with the following measurements. All dimensions are in meters. What is the value of B? 14 m2 7 m2 77 m2 8 m2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there a diagram?

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

Yes hold on!

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is no value of b in the diagram?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but I think they are solving for the area, right?

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

You have to find B you take 1/2(B)(h)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yeah the area of the base that's what I thought they were asking. here the height is the distance of the dotted line which is 3.5 and the base b=the side length which is 4

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

So 3.5 times 4? Then divided by 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, and that is the value of B. What do you get when you do that?

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

Then you take 7 and times it by the height?

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

Yeah, none of this makes sense to me..
