@eric_d do you know this Graph the relation {(5, 0), (0, 5), (5, 1), (1, 5)}. Is it a function? Why or why not? Yes, it passes the vertical-line test. No, it does not pass the horizontal-line test. Yes, it passes the horizontal-line test. No, it does not pass the vertical-line test..

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so did you plot the points....?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

of not use this site to plot the points https://www.desmos.com/calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i still dont get it

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok... so the test for a function is the vertical line test.... would there me any place when 2 or more points would be on a vertical line..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah the way i graphed it yeah

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so if there is a vertical line with 2 points on it, there the set of points don't form a function as the fail the vertical line test.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so the solution is your last choice... no... it doesn't pass the vertical line test
