OpenStudy (anonymous):

x-12>0 add 12 to both sides x>12

Got it @dianaeshun

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2-x-12 > 0 treat as an equation and find nullifying X x^2-x-12 = 0 factor or solve using a quadratic eqaution: x=-3, x=4 since x^2 is a positive, it's a "smiling" parabola (positive) and since the problem asked for everything bigger than 0 the answer is x<-3 OR x>4
