Can somebody help me:(Medall What type of system of linear equations is this? y = –3x – 1 3x + y = – 1 A. consistent and independent B. consistent and dependent C. inconsistent D. independent and inconsistent

The second equation is: 3x + y = – 1 subtract 3x: y = -3x - 1 which is identical to the first equation. Therefore, the first and second equation, being the same, are consistent and dependent.
