@superhelp101 ?
The mitochondria is an organelle found in large numbers in most cells, in which the biochemical processes of respiration and energy production occur. It has a double membrane, the inner layer being folded inward to form layers (cristae). of also know as the powerhouse of the cell. The endosymbiotic is the theory that the mitochondria and chloroplasts contained within modern animal and plant cells were once free living bacteria that were engulfed by another bacterial cell leading to the eukaryotic cell. endosymbiotic theory stands as truth because of the fact that mitochondria have their own set of DNA. The fact that the double membrane has stayed - the inner mitochondrial membrane homologous to the membrane of the free living bacteria and the outer mitochondrial membrane homologous to the membrane of the ancestral cell that engulfed it - also supports the endosymbiotic theory.
thank you :) can you help me with another one?
