well you have to square root each side so \[x = \sqrt{96}\] and since that is not one of the choices you have to simplify the square root. to do this, find out what highest perfect square multiplies by another number to get 96. In this case it would be \[\sqrt{16 * 6} = \sqrt{96}\] since 16 is a perfect square you can simplify the square root so it ends up \[\pm 4\sqrt{6} \] I hope that makes sense! :)

Its a simple question but I dont know how to solve it and when I do try to solve it, I end up with 248+ results when I need 28 >.< Solve the equation. 8x^2 – 4 = 28 A. 2, –2 B. 4, –4 C. 8, –8 D. 16, –16 I think its C But then again Im soo confused

First you want to add 4 to each side: 8x^2 = 32 Then divide by 8 on each side: x^2 = 4 Square root each side: \[x = \pm 2\]
