Solve this x = 14.5 y = 800(.95)^x y = 50(1.15)^x

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Is that x the given value or is that answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

given value :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So we need to solve for y in both functions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no seperate. there should be two different answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah that is what I meant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, i should've said that >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lets start with the first one. y=800(0.95)^14.5 I got this by plugging in 14.5 for x, now by order of operations we need to do the exponent first so use your calculator to find (0.95)^14.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually don't have a calculator lmao, but the one on google told me it was 0.475

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats fine, now we have y=800(0.475) what is 800*0.475?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

380?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes so in the first one Y=380

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok great ^.^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you think you can do the second one by yourself? Or do you need me to show you how to do that one too.. it is identical to the last one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think i'm good from here, thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem :)
