Ok well, in that case, when you need to find a percent of a percent - Turn each percent into a decimal: Where 2% for example is 0.02 - What we do is move the decimal to the left two units. Another example 50% is like 50.0% and if we move the decimal to the left two units we get 0.50 and that represents 50% as a decimal.

When we say Some % of some Other %, like in your case 5% of 20%... Multiply the decimals together... 5% = 0.05, 20% = 0.20 for 0.20 X 0.05 and when you get your decimal, multiply it by one hundred (move the decimal to the right two places) and that becomes your %

yes another way to look at is by taking a good number such as 100 :

5% of 20% of 100

5% of 20

since 1 is 1% of 100, 5% of 20% is 1%

Let's make the units the same first: 3.5kg = 3500g

Then set 70g over this: 70g/3500g and do the division: 0.02

Remember above how I told you to multiply the decimal by one hundred... move it to the right two places? This brings 0.02 to 2.0 And this means 2%.

70g is 2% of 3.5kg
