Brenda is training to be a volunteer at her library. She wonders what the probability is that the first item she'll get to check out for a customer will be a video. So, on her first day of training, she tracks what items are checked out. The results are shown here in a tally chart
Where is the tally chart?
Use Brenda's experimental data to estimate the probability that her first item to check out will be a video. Show and explain your work
There are 80 items checked out. 37 books, 24 videos, and 19 magazines.
And so your chance of a video is 24/80
Divide the amount of videos by the total amount of items checked out. 24/80 = 0.3. We have to turn 0.3 to a percent. Multiply 100 x 0.3, which equals 30. So the probability that the first item checked out will be a video is 30%.
thank you
