OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Find the surface area of each shape individually?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i was at lunch, and i have to find the surface area of the compiosite solid

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

I know. Start by doing what i said.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

SA of a cylinder: \[\large SA = 2 \pi r^2 h\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the cube is 404

OpenStudy (anonymous):

226.19 cylinder

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Add them together. Now, since we counted the circular base area of the cylinder twice (once on the cylinder, once on the rectangular prism)... you have to subtract twice the area of the circle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

630.19 so this minus..50.27?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its either 536.52 or 529.66 those are the two answers i have left

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it! 529.66

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Yes, when you subtract 50.27 twice you get that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you :D i was stumped on this for about two hours
