OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

Last year 200 students were asked to vote on their favorite type of pizza. The results are shown in the table below: Pepperoni 70 students Sausage 14 students Mushroom 8 students Black Olive 28 students Cheese 80 students This Circle Graph has been started, but 3 percentages are missing. Complete the circle graph by finding the percentage of students who chose sausage, the percentage for mushroom and the percentage for black olive pizza as their favorite. Describe how you calculated each percentage.

HERMES

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

To find the percent divide the number given for the respective category and over the whole number of students. For example for the students who chose sausage 18 you do this: 18 / 200 =0.09 Then you move the decimal two places to the right to get 9%

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

wait nvm mixed numbers srry hehehe

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

let me try again

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

70 + 14 + 6 + 30 + 80 = 200 200 divide by 2 make 100! Divide by 2 for the rest! P 70 = 35% S 14 = 7% M 6 = 3% BO 30 = 15% C 80 = 40% Now add them all up, and if it comes to 100, i am right! :)

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

wait

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

nvm

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

you sure?

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

this is the wrong numbers again just relate it to the questions you are doing now

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

I'll do it

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

Pepperoni 70 students Sausage 14 students Mushroom 8 students Black Olive 28 students Cheese 80 students 70+14+8+28+20=70 so...

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

You divide the rest by 2

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

it becomes 35+7+4+14+10=70

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

So its 70 :)

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

wait, you diod a wrong calculation there

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

where?

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

70+14+8+28+80

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

the 80 was a 20

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

35+7+4+14+40

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

yes and add it up.sorry for the miscalculation

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

100

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

it equals 100

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

so its 100:) hey at least you learned how to do it :)

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

yeah, true

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

XD

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

thanks

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

bye, now

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

bye :)
