find the domain: h(x)=x+5/sqrt(2x-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no clue on how to do this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find the domain you have to say that:\[2x-1>0\] and solve it for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but what about the top part? the bottom part would end up being x<1/2

Forget the top part, in this function you have to see the lower part. \[x>\frac{1}{2}\]We forget the top part because it's a linear function there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh alright then what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Domain\[D=\left\{x\in\mathbb{R}|x>\frac{1}{2}\right\}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and thats it?

Yes, this is the answer
