A colony of bacteria is growing exponentially according to the function below, where t is in hours. How many hours will it take for the population to grow to 100? Round to the nearest integer and do not include units in your answer. B(t) = 4 e0.8t

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

Basically, it's asking you to solve \[100 = 4 e^{0.8t}\] For t. Do you know how to get variables out of exponents?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No no idea

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

That's ok. To get a variable out of an exponent, we us logarithms (Usually just called logs. Logarithms are sort of inverse exponents, and when we're working with the constant "e," we use the natural log, which is abbreviated ln. Basically, all you need to know for this problem is that: \[\ln(e^n) = n\]

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

Like other operations, you can take the log of both sides of an equation without creating any problems.

I am soo lost can you put it the equation please?
