(2x^7 + 4x^4 - 2x + 3) - (4x^4 - 2x^3 + 3) = A. 2x^7 + 8x^4 + 2x^3 - 2x B. 2x^7 + 2x^3 - 2x C. 2x^7 - 2x^3 - 2x D. 2x^7 + 8x^4 - 2x^3 - 2x

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

first distribute the negative through the parenthesis and you will get : 2x^7 + 4x^4 - 2x + 3 - 4x^4 + 2x^3 - 3 now lets combine like terms.. 2x^7 + 2x^3 - 2x

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

do you have any questiona at all ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the two 4x^4 cancels out.?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks i got it now

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

if it makes it easier...seperate them 2x^7 -- no other like term 4x^4 - 4x^4 = 0 2x^3 -- no other like term -2x -- no other like term 3 - 3 = 0 now just write the results.. 2x^7 + 2x^3 - 2x
