factor 2+2y+x+xy

First put parenthesis around the first 2 and the last 2 like..
(2 + 2y)+(x+xy)

On the first one factor out the 2 so
2 (1 + y)

Then on the second factor out the x
+x ( 1 + y)

Then the answer would be (1 + y) (2 + x)

Does that make sense?
