OpenStudy (quickstudent):

Hi! Does anyone here know Hindi?

OpenStudy (clalgee):

Hi! I can speak fluent Hindi.

OpenStudy (clalgee):

@quickstudent

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

achha! I have been waiting. Are you from India?

OpenStudy (clalgee):

Yes! I was raised in Calcutta in India & my father is Indian.

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

OK, well, I am not learning Hindi from any course, I just wanted to have some simple way of learning the way I want to.

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

@Clalgee, So, would I be able to learn Hindi with your help?

OpenStudy (clalgee):

Alright! I will try to help you, but just know I learned Hindi a different way than others. My dad taught me Hindi how his parents taught them. Did you just want to learn how to speak it or write it? Or both?

OpenStudy (clalgee):

@quickstudent

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

@Clalgee , That's good, because I don't want to learn it the way most people learn it. I have actually been learning Hindi this whole time, well, the way a baby does. I have been watching movies, and TV serials, like B.R. Chopra's Mahabharat, and Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan and Shri Krishna, and by watching them for a long time, I started recognising words. Now, I am able to say simple, small sentences. But I want to be able to really speak and read Hindi. If I send videos, or things like that to you, would you be able to translate them for me?

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

@Clalgee ?

OpenStudy (clalgee):

I understand what you mean. I also had trouble learning Hindi, but don't worry. It isn't that hard. If you send me a video, I will be able to translate it for you. Hindi is actually the first language I learned. @quickstudent

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

Thanks you! Seeing translations is the best way for me to learn Hindi. I am able to learn the words easily, and by doing that, I figure out the grammer on my own.

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

Can you translate songs? Learning the words from songs makes me able to memorize the words easier.

OpenStudy (clalgee):

No problem! I think I have an idea of what you are looking for. Did you just want an easier way in learning the words better?

OpenStudy (clalgee):

I can translate the songs in two different languages because of my ethnicity.

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

Yeah, that is it. I tried other methods of learning, and learning from the translations of songs was the easiest. All the courses I tried just got confusing, but learning it this way never did. What is the other language you can translate to?

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

@Clalgee ?

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

Oh, wait, that was not the one. I wanted to get a translation in this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcMr18fx1uY .

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

I don't know how that first one got copied. I never heard that song before.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Lots of options for learning it: https://www.google.com/search?q=self+learn+hindi

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

That way you are not limited to when people can reply here and you can use OS to complement what you find elsewhere.

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

@Clalgee

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

@Clalgee why am I blocked again?
