Why did the Church resist changes taking place during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance that were leading to the Scientific Revolution? The Church was wary of scientists questioning their explanations of reality. The Church felt that reading Greek text would reduce the importance of Latin. The Church was afraid that Islamic influence would create more Muslims in Europe. The Church feared that scientific publications would become more widely printed than the Bible.
