I have 70 something smartcents, and some titles cost 50 smartcents but are still locked, why is that??

You have to have 50 medals in the subject in order to unlock the title.

It means you need 50 SmartCents in that subject.
For example, to get "Grammar Police" for English, I had to earn 500 medals in English.

They do this because earning a title in a certain subject is supposed to symbolize that you are more knowlegeable or trustworthy in the subject.
If you could just use any SmartCents to purchase any title, it could be misleading.
