A baseball player has been improving every season since making it to the big leagues. Below is a table of the runs he has scored. His manager wants to try to determine when he will score 256 runs. Season Runs 1 2 2 4 3 8 Explain how to create the exponential function that represents his run-scoring abilities. Then explain how to convert this function into a logarithmic function and why this can help the manager answer his question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, i think i've got it. the exponential funcion would be y=4^x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its y=2^x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh yeah you're ight xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol this is the chart just in case

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thanks, lol so for the second part,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to turn it into a logarithmic you would do f(x) log a (x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

log 2 2=1, log 2 4=2 and then you would continue like that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anything else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope that's it thanks so much
