Solve The System of Equations using any method, and show your work. (Picture Included)

OpenStudy (briana.img):

OpenStudy (briana.img):

I think you use the graphing method?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

set them equal and solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

graphing method is a pain also not very accurate

OpenStudy (briana.img):

x=2 y=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since \(y=y\) you can write \[\frac{2}{3}x-6=-\frac{1}{2}x+1\] and solve for \(x\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i doubt it but we can check

OpenStudy (briana.img):

x=6 for that problem you just put

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no if \(x=2\) then \[\frac{2}{3}\times 2-6\neq 0\] so that is not right

OpenStudy (briana.img):

oh okay i used the graphing method guess it didn't work i just find it the easiest method

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i think the easiest method that will work is to start with \[\frac{2}{3}x-6=-\frac{1}{2}x+1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then if you want to get rid fo annoying fractions, multiply both sides (carefully) by \(6\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that should give you \[4x-36=-3x+6\]

OpenStudy (briana.img):

x=6 ?!?!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope

OpenStudy (briana.img):

really?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh maybe

OpenStudy (briana.img):

mathway says so.. LOL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[7x=42\\ x=6\] ok you win

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hell if you want to cheat, go the whole hog http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y%3D2x%2F3-6%2Cy%3D-x%2F2%2B1

OpenStudy (briana.img):

@satellite73 i just use it for fast calculation omg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, it is fast i am half fast
