What is the quickest and easiest way to sample the sea floor?
collect some sand in a bottle
the sea floor, not the sand. im talking about what machine to use. @emmigrace222
If you want to know what machine to use, shouldn't you have put this question in a more specific section? Or at least specify that you mean a machine? Emmigrace is technically correct.
if the question was that simply i would have not needed help @Robert-O the sea floor and a beach is very different.
Yeah, but a seafloor also contains sand (most of the time) and water and plants etc. Maybe you wouldn't use a bottle, but the idea is essentially the same. Go down, grab a sample and leave.
its mostly sediment. im this is taking middle of the ocean where no one has every been deal. your not helping @Robert-O you are just repeating someone else's incorrect idea
Well if it were "where no one has ever been" I would suggest using a remotely controlled submarine-like vehicle to grab a sample. And I am trying my best to help. You just need to be a little more clear. (by the way, I hope everything is okay, and there are no hard feelings)
Was the answer correct katlove14?
sending divers out on a boat and they swim down and collect it. they swim around 150 feet down @Robert-O
That was correct?
i think so. thats what google told me
Well, I guess it would work. But 150 feet isn't "were no one has ever been" I thought you meant something more like a place where the pressure would be too much for a human being.
you were right.. it was submarine. i found a link that had my exact question in it.
Oh, that's good! Now we know what the answer was! By the way, what class is this for? And did it have options?
its for oceanography. an online class. nope. every question i have to write a paragraph. its a college prep class.
Oceanography? That's great!
im sorry i said you were incorrect. ive just been working on that question forever and wanted to get it over with
im really enjoying it. im learning a lot.
Yeah, oceanography is really cool. And don't worry about saying I was incorrect. It happens. The important thing is we figured it out! :D
;)
By the way, how did you do the thing where it notified me that you said something to me?
If that makes sense.
i tagged you. do the @ sign and then tpe in there username. try it with my name
@katlove14 Oh, I get it now. I put the @ and I started typing your name, then it appeared. So this notifies you every time?
yep
i typically do it if that person isnt viewing my question anymore
Well that's useful. So if I wanted the help of a specific person, I could just call them over?
i would think so. but i havent tried it
Oh. I think I will dedicate quite a bit of time to figuring out how this all works. :)
its a handy trick to know. you can do it on all social networks, facebook, twitter, and instagram
:| I don't use any of those so... I guess it won't really help me. :P
haha thats ok...
Hey, and could you tell me what that medal thing was?
since you had the correct answer i tagged that you were correct and it gave you a medal. its just bragging rights really. you dont get anything
Oh. Makes sense. So that smartscore thingy went up. Does it have anything to do with the other thing? And if so, is it also just bragging rights?
yep. it shows that you know what your talking about
Actually, giving someone a medal does do something. The more medals you have, the more tytles you can get. It also brings up your smartscore.
*titles
Typo :o
Hm, I guess titles are just more bragging rights? ;)
yep. you don't get anything else
The titles let others know that they can rely on you. They would be able to tell who is really giving a good answer or not.
yeah but who really looks at that? i dont...
I don't know how any of this works so... :|
thats ok. you'll figure it out
You don't have to find it. You will see it right with the person's name. Ever saw the name "Big Man On The Hippocampus" when you are talking to Abhisar?
Who is abhisar?
i have no idea.. but i have to go work in my class again bye @Robert-O ;)
Bye @katlove14 See you around I guess. :)
Oh you will meet him soon, he is one of the best biology answerers here.
Oh, well maybe one day I will. And maybe one day I will answer questions as good as he does.
Well I am going to leave now. See you guys around. :)
