FAN AND MEDAL!!! What polynomial has roots of -6, -4, and 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x3 - 9x2 - 22x + 24 x3 - x2 - 26x - 24 x3 + x2 - 26x + 24 x3 + 9x2 + 14x - 24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know but i got no response @jdoe0001

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm well... what did you get from the multiplication then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x3 - x2 - 26x - 24 Don't know if its right

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm what does (x+6) (x+4) give you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

X^2+4x+6x+24

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

just the non-simplified version... maybe you missimplified

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jdoe0001

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

yeap that is correct so that simplifies to \(\bf x^2+10x+24 \implies (x^2+10x+24 )(x-1) \\ \quad \\ \implies x^3+10x^2+24x-x^2-10x-24 \\ \quad \\ \implies x^3+9x^2+14x-24\)

Thanks!
