Generally, it's said that the Cold War began at the end of WII, so 1945. The Cold War ended at the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. However, I think we are entering a new Cold War in the current century given Western attitudes toward Russia and China. It sometimes feels very scary living through history in the modern age. ;)
