Projectile motion in Movies.. Hey i am gonna be doing projectile motion and circular motion in class next week.. i was wondering if i can get some scenes from some movies to discuss possible or not I got one.. The bus jump scene from SPEED 1994. It turns out it is very much possible.. and i even found out a video in which they showed the making.. it was a real jump.. (just without the gap).. but it was real :D.. so something like that?
FOr circular motion i thought of using the curving bullets from WANTED scenes.. to test whether thats possible
@ganeshie8 @Vincent-Lyon.Fr @MrNood
I also did angry birds.. so can ya guys think of something more?
you should check out the mythbusters discovery episodes..i saw the speed scene tested in one episode..they proved it was absurdly impossible.
yea.. that is if there is no RAMP to take off.. they argued that in the movie, there is no ramp.. (and yea.. they haven't shown one) but atleast keeno Reeves mentions it.. and it shown to take off from a ramp (invisible one).. so if we neglect the visual error.. conceptually its possible. if its jumped at around 15 degrees.. and in the movie.. i check it does about 20 degrees.. so it works.. and ofcourse its a real stunt.. so u can't argue with that :P
fast five climax where the cars take 90 degree turns without flipping..that vault must have had a huge inertia compared to the cars
yea.. but i can't do the toppling part until i reach the concept of torques right?
torque comes under circular motion. torque us responsible for circular motion right?
no no.. in 2d motion just introducing centripetal acceleration and angular speeds.. then comes forces and momentums.. and then energies then we deal with torques and angular momentums
there is a scene in fast and furious 6 towards the end where a guy catches a girl in air.it is quiet good.u can check it out
ok.. lemme youtube it!!
wait.. what should i youtube for? guy catching girl? :P
youtube for fast and furious 6 videos.it is mainly a chasing scene couple of minutes long
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JZKEN_vpzY&hd=1# here is the link.it is towards the end
ok ok.. ll see.. thanks man!!
lol.. the ending is not there :P :P.. besides.. can't do any calculation there :P
how about the mission impossible 2 ending scene where tom cruise and villain jump off their bikes and hit in midair.
wait ive seen some thing like this on dancing on ice and some circus tricks mm
@incredebility.. yea but again.. not calculable.. they are best for inelastic collision :D
@theEric
I have nothing, sorry! Best of luck! :)
