Well, I'm leaning towards Nationalists. Just because it says they advocate political independence for a country. I would say Japan because Taiwan was their first overseas colony but they don't recognise the republic of China(Taiwan) as the only government.

Nationalists. Chiang Kai Shek brought the Nationalists to Taiwan after being defeated by the Communists in China during the Chinese civil war. Not quite sure what role the socialists play, but the Gang of Four was part of the Communists in China as well, after Chairman Mao's death.
