OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a convergent geometric series. The sum cannot be found. This is a convergent geometric series. The sum is 30. This is a divergent geometric series. The sum cannot be found. This is a divergent geometric series. The sum is 30.

Have you done the convergence of series?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

@dhiraj123 In any case, this is a geometric series, meaning that it is in the form \(Sn=a1(1-r^n)/(1-r)\) as you have indicated earlier. If r<1, the series is convergent. if r\(\ge\)1, the series is divergent. Can you find a1, r and n for your problem?
