Dangling modifier. "carrying an umbrella" has nothing to modify. this version suggests the dog is carrying the umbrella. I think it is anyways xD A comma splice would be a runnon sentence connecting two independent clauses and there is only one independent clause. I honestly am not sure what a coherent sentence is. A fragment would be incomplete.
