What of the following is the surface area of the right cylinder?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm giving metals.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the surface area cylinder formula is 2 x pi x radius to the second power + 2 x pi x radius x height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I keep getting 395!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so... your answer should be in terms of pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and your answer should be 126 pi

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Your formula is:\[SA=2 \pi r h + 2 \pi r ^{2}\]

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Filling in our values we get:\[SA = 2 \pi (7)(2) + 2 \pi (7) ^{2}\]Doing the math then:

OpenStudy (imstuck):

\[SA= 28 \pi +98 \pi \]And of course that comes to:\[126\pi \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you understand what me and @IMStuck said?? @cline13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@cline13 .....r u there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't know it was supposed to be in terms of pi. So basically I apply the numbers to the formula then attach pi at the end?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well yeah because the answer u had was what 126 pi equaled
