I'm preparing to take the ASVAB and I'm having trouble with some of the math practice questions. Here's one of them: At Joe's Restaurant, one-fourth of the patrons are male and one-fifth of the patrons are from out of town. What proportion would you expect to be male and out of town?

@amistre64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a proportion is generally defined as an equality of ratios:\[\frac{a}{b}=\frac{x}{y}\]

OpenStudy (amistre64):

but this seems to be more probability maybe then ratios

OpenStudy (amistre64):

1/5 of 1/4

OpenStudy (amistre64):

any options to help clarify the situation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/5 1/10 1/20 1/25 1/50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking 1/20
