I'm assuming you meant to post this in the history section, since that really doesnt have much to do with biology as far as I know (there could be some population genetics issue or something)

My thoughts on this, is that the Visigoths were fighting with the roman empire pretty constantly, so I would think that they had some grievance with them, like cultural assimilation or something.
