OpenStudy (kainui):

Well, can you find the surface area of a cone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There's like two different formulas Something about regular and circular?

OpenStudy (kainui):

You can imagine cutting the cylinder down the side: |dw:1405926358716:dw| So you know how to find the area of rectangles right? So if you cut off the surface and turn it into a rectangle like this, then you can see how the height and circumference of a circle are the area. Then remember the bottom also has area of a circle. Then you add up all 3 of these together. I'm not sure off the top of my head about the cone section but you can probably find it on the internet.

So I do 6 time 2? For the cylinder?
