The student mislabeled the work in the second step as “Multiplication property of equality.” B. The student improperly applied the multiplication property of equality in the second step. C. The student computed the product improperly to arrive at an erroneous answer in step 3. D. There is no error. The student’s justification is correct.

You have to do the opposite..15/17 was multiplied by the variable y..so you have to divide 15/17 to both sides..

Yeah, or multiply the reciprocal(17/15).
