if y=2x+1 were changed to y=1/2x+1, how would the graph of the new function compare with the first one? A. it would be steeper B. it would be shifted left C. it should be shifted down D. it would be less steep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here they are changing the slope, since it is the number multiplied by x. The change from 2->1/2 makes it smaller, so it wouldn't be as steep.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it won't be A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And it wouldn't be shifted because the y intercept (+1) has stayed the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm of it could be B or D then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In order for it to be shifted left or right it would have to be (x+/-#) where # is a number, so it can't be that one
