Question 9 (Multiple Choice Worth 3 points) In the early days of the United States, the central government was weak compared to the state governments. The leaders recognized there were problems with this arrangement. When they wrote the Constitution, they gave more power to the central government. The states still have authority within their borders but must follow the Constitution and its laws. What system of government does the United States have? Unitary Federation Parliamentary Confederation Question 10 (Multiple Choice Worth 3 points) The people of one country have decided they no longer wish to have individual state governments. They all basically have the same laws anyway, so to save on taxes they wish to grow the size of the central government and dissolve the state governments. What system of government do the people of this country want? Unitary Federation Parliamentary Confederation

umm, wouldn't 9 be federation?
i went on google and found he deff for it
a confederation is defined as a group of loosely allied states, but a federation is when the states have power as well as the central government but overall the central government has the most power.
sorry had to help someone
in the beginning the founding fathers were afraid if they created a government like the one in England then the same thing would happen and so they created the Articles of Confederation, limiting the central government's power. This caused too many problems because people would get unhappy and fight (ex:Shay's rebellion). So they created the Constitution granting both the national and state levels power and instituting checks and balances to keep everyone in check. When they went from the Articles of Confederation they changed from a Confederation into a federal republic.

The Leswaygo Times is a newspaper in the imaginary country Leswaygo. You read in one of its online articles that the people are unhappy with their new king. He is making changes to make Leswaygo more modern. He believes this will benefit the country, but the people do not agree. They are demanding a change in the law to have a voice in any major decisions through voting. If the king allows this, it will change the Leswaygo form of government to communism democracy autocracy socialism Question 7 (Multiple Choice Worth 3 points) A nation with an oligarchy form of government has elections so the people can vote on each government decision one hereditary executive who remains in office for life many elected officials to represent different groups of people few leaders who typically have similar views on government
