OpenStudy (akohl):

@Abhisar The diagram shows a square block at four positions along a track. The track is frictionless between points A and B, and rougher elsewhere. Initially, the block is held in place against a spring by a horizontal external force. Then the external force is removed, and the block is projected forward. It travels down a ramp and across the rest of the track. It slides a distance S to a stop at point D. To calculate the height h of the ramp, values for which set of variables are necessary? (Note: Vk refers to the speed of the block at a point shown in the diagram.)

OpenStudy (akohl):

Options V2 and the mass of the block V2 and the spring constant V1, S, and the mass of the block V1, S, and the coefficient of friction of the rough surface.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Diagram ?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Sorry for being so slow...have lots of notifications to handle :(

OpenStudy (akohl):

its okay

OpenStudy (abhisar):

What do u think ?

OpenStudy (akohl):

I think its spring constant and v2

OpenStudy (abhisar):

How will u find h ?

OpenStudy (akohl):

Isn't it v^2/2g

OpenStudy (abhisar):

\(\huge\sf Brilliant !\)

OpenStudy (akohl):

So we just need the velocities but v1 and v2 isn't an option

OpenStudy (abhisar):

That's were m stuck too !

OpenStudy (akohl):

Is there another equation for h

OpenStudy (abhisar):

@kropot72 can u help ?

OpenStudy (akohl):

Not sure what to do

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Can i answer this one tmrw ?

OpenStudy (akohl):

Sure im gonna put up another question with this diagram
