What are the end behaviors of f(x) = -2(x - 2)5? A. Both ends go down. B. The left end goes up; the right end goes down. C. The left end goes down; the right end goes up. D. Both ends go up.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

when x → ∞, then `-2(x-2)` is a negative number, and will still remain negative when raised to the fifth power. when x → -∞, then `-2(x-2)` is a positive number (product of 2 negatives=positive), and raised to the fifth power is positive. THUS when x → ∞, f(x) → -∞ when x → -∞, f(x) → ∞ makes sense ?
