Graph a triangle (XYZ) and reflect it over the line y=-x to create triangle X'Y'Z'. Part 1: Describe the transformation using words. (3 points) Part 2: Draw a line segment from point X to the reflecting line, and then draw a line segment from point X' to the reflecting line. What do you notice about the two line segments you drew? (2 points) Part 3: Do you think you would see the same characteristic if you drew the line segment connecting Y with the reflecting line and then Y' with the reflecting line? How do you know? (3 points)

ok whats the coordinates? if u tell me tht it will much easier to solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much! X (5,4) Y (8, 4) Z (8, 9)

OpenStudy (aum):

If the point (a,b) is reflected over the line y = -x, the image will be (-b, -a).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I got that part, I don't understand parts 2 and 3 though.

OpenStudy (aum):

When a point is reflected over the line y = -x, the x-coordinate and the y-coordinate will change places and their signs will change.
