Use the graph below for this question: What is the average rate of change from x = −5 to x = −4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The average rate of change is the slope. We can see from that graph that when x=-5, y=1 So it is the coordinate (-5,1) and when x=-4, y=-4 so the other point is (-4,-4) Use the formula \(\large \frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}\), can you do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah ill do it real quick and let you know what i got. it will take a minut

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i got 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(\large\frac{-4-1}{-4+5}=\frac{-5}{1}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it doesnt show what you put. it says math processing error

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, try refreshing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wow i subtracted wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much tho! (:
