so the original graph p(t) has no y intercept

shifting it up/down or reflecting won't give u a y intercept

however shifting it to LEFT definitely makes the graph to cut y axis, right ?

and you can clearly see that in your graphs :- look at the graph transformations. in which graph, the curve is intersecting the y axis ?
