Check my work, please :D First, here is the existing map of current structures. It is important that the roller coaster does not go through the foundation of any of these structures. 1st point: ___6___ 2nd point:___-2___ 3rd point: ___-7___ Using the points above as zeros, construct the polynomial function, f(x), that will be the path of your roller coaster. Show all of your work. 6, -2, -7 (x + 6) (x - 2) (x - 7) (x^2 – 2x + 6x – 12) (x – 7) (x^2 + 4x – 12) (x – 7) X^3 + 4x^2 – 12x – 7x^2 – 28x + 84 X^3 + 3x^2 - 40x + 84 I'm not sure if this is right or not, a little help.

Oh, let me try again

OpenStudy (phi):

Using the points above as zeros, that means the polynomial has y=0 when x has those values notice if you have a zero at x=+6 then (add -6 to both sides x- 6 = 6-6 or x-6= 0 y= x-6 would have y=0 when x is 6 the point of all of that is your equation (x + 6) (x - 2) (x - 7)=y has zeros at -6, +2 and +7 that is "backwards"!

Oh! o-o woops. Okay, so one I fix it, it will give me the correct answer?

@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

the roller coaster will not go through the buildings, if that is what you are asking.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes
