and we do not need both opp and adj measurements to be given since the hyp is given.

This is the side that is not touching the angle (that is not the hyp)
Do you know what the adj side is?
It is the side touching the angle.

I'm gonna be honest with you both, I'm not in this math, I'm in a lower math, I just need to pass this online test real quick, it doesn't mean anything toward my grades, I just need to pass it, as much as I'd love to figure all this out, I probably wont be able to because I'm not actually in this math

Hint #1: the cosine of angle x is defined as the adjacent side divided by the hypotenuse.

For you to finish: The sine of angle x, written sin x, is defined as ... ???
The tangent of angle x, written tan x, is .... ?

One of these three is the trig function you need to solve this problem.

You know that the opposite side has length 10, and that the hyp has length 14, so you can write

sin x = 10/14. Your job is to obtain the approx. measure of the angle x. This is easily done with a calculator.
