After the Reconstruction... *Medals*
Example of One Political Challenge to Change: Example of One Social Challenge to Change:
Hm...you want one political change and one social change that happened due to the Reconstruction?
Yes. :]
Okay. I am doing some research so I can be sure to give you a right answer. :D
Thank you :)
Reconstruction was the period following the Civil War in which the national government attempted to reintegrate the Southern states that had formed the Confederacy back into the United States. From 1865, when the war ended, until 1877, the national government worked to establish order in the South. In the process, the nation passed the Thirteenth, Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments to the Constitution that ended slavery, defined citizenship and protected the right to vote. Source: http://classroom.synonym.com/social-political-economic-effects-reconstruction-era-6164.html So the three effects/changes are an end to slavery, defining citizenship, and protecting the right to vote. Now, I am not sure which one is social...I think maybe defining citizenship is social? Not sure. I only know that the protecting the right to vote is political. And the way they became to be laws and stuff is there I think. :)
Thank you so much! :D Medal for you! *gives medal*
