Which of the graphs below represent the function f(x) = - x3 + 4x2 - x + 3? You may sketch the graph to compare.

OpenStudy (driftracer305):

should look like an S- curve with intersection at (0,3)

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

Do you want help or answer?

OpenStudy (driftracer305):

i think u got it...... right @andy11 ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like this?

OpenStudy (driftracer305):

uhh no...... see where u have the curve coming down to (0,0)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

well work out the y- intercept by letting x = 0 and a look at the basic graphs for a cubic

OpenStudy (driftracer305):

k so that point need to be 3 units up........ or at (0,3)..... do u have an option like that??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i have 2 options like that

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

this should help you find the solution

OpenStudy (driftracer305):

ohh........ can u attach them both here.... so i can see?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (driftracer305):

yes........ it's this last one u attached...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you so much! (:

OpenStudy (driftracer305):

sure...... anytime.... :D

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

aww i was just drawing a graph :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awww man sorry abou that that @Here_to_Help15

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

its okay : )
