Peter played his favorite video game for 10 hours last week. Today, Peter's parents restricted him to 5 hours each week for the next 8 weeks. Create the function, f(x), that models Peter's total video game time, and explain what each number in the situation represents graphically, using complete sentences

so no matter what we start with 10, but then we add on 5 for each additional week. so for 10+5x where x is in weeks, but we want after week 1 to only have a value of 10 and if we let x=1 here we get 15 so we fix this by doing this y=10+5(x-1) now notice when we put in x=1 we get 10 and needed, and when we put in x=2 we get 15 as needed and x=3 gives 20....

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

oh ok thx

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

wait i dont really get that can you explain a little more please

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

@zzr0ck3r

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

which part?

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

all of it lol

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

do you see that 10+5x would add 5 to 10 for each x?

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

oh now i get it thx

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

but if we would have used 10+5x it would have been wrong because we want it to give a y values of 15 when we let x = 2 10+5(x-1) fixes that. plug in some numbers for x, play around with it so that you can see how it works.
