@aum Help?

OpenStudy (aum):

How is the link you posted connected to this problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure it was just with the question.

OpenStudy (aum):

(3, -1) has a y value of -1. y = -1 is a horizontal line parallel to the x-axis. ANY point that has a y-value of -1 will be on this line. Therefore, (3,-1) will be on this line. Try out other choices to see if there are any other lines that has (3,-1). Put x = 3 and y = -1 in each equation to see if it is valid.

Would it be D?

OpenStudy (aum):

y = 3x - 1 put x = 3 and y = -1 -1 = 3(3) - 1 LHS is -1 and RHS is 8. So the equation is not satisfied. So D is false.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it B?

OpenStudy (aum):

No. (3,-1) has a y value of -1. In B, y = 3. It does not have a y-value of -1.

I don't see how it could be C then
